2015-16 Program Highlights
The Dripping Springs Education Foundation was honored to present the DSISD Trustees with a check representing the $150,000.00 donated to the District thus far for the 2015-16 school year. This record-setting amount reflects $80,519.21 in Innovative Teaching Grants, $16,646.24 in Student Leadership Grants and $9,969.00 from the newly-established Nick LeFevre Community Youth Fund.
Innovative Teaching Grants recognize and reward teachers for innovative, creative instructional approaches in the classroom. These grants must enhance academic performance through proven results and further DSISD’s curricular objectives.
Student Leadership Grants Begun spring 2012 as a DSMS pilot program, by June 2013 more than 100 students at three campuses participated in SLG-funded projects, totaling $2,820 in grants awarded.
“Our SLG program gives students opportunities to engage positively in the community as they develop their leadership abilities. It’s great to see them recognize the impact they can have for good as they serve alongside their peers and faculty sponsors.” — Michael Brack, Former VP of Programs
“Our current donor profile is about 70/30 corporate to family. In the years ahead, we would like to reverse this ratio for stability and sustainability so that Family & Friends donors make up the lion’s share of Foundation support.” — Ginnie Wilcox, Former VP of Development
